Warsaw, getting there and around
The airport is about six miles (10 km) southwest of Warsaw. For flight information, one can contact +48 (0)22 650 3943. The following companies offer cheap airfares to holiday destinations worldwide: www.expedia.co.uk for scheduled flights, and www.thomson.co.uk for cheap charter flights. Municipal bus lines (No 188 and 175) operate all week from 4:50 am to 11 pm. The bus tickets are available at the RUCH kiosks and Tourist Information in the Departure Hall. Radio-taxis may also be called on phone number 919. Most leading car rental companies operate from the airport. The city's railroad services include EuroCity and InterCity trains from Cracow (journey time - 2 hours 40 minutes), Berlin (journey time - 6 hours 20 minutes) and Prague (journey time - 8 hours 50 minutes) which arrive at the Warsaw Central station. Metro trains are also available, which run on one line every five minutes, between 5am to 11:15pm, to and from between the southern suburbs to the center of the city. |
