Tours Around TokyoTokyo, Yokohama
Tokyo is the largest city in Japan ; the second largest city is Yokohama , less than thirty minutes south from Tokyo by train, and is well worth the visit. Yokohama boasts a futuristic city centre and the country's largest Chinatown. Guarded by four multi-coloured gates, the city's Chinatown has a number of popular shops and restaurants, and was built after Yokohama opened its ports to foreign trade in 1859 after years of isolation. Merchants and traders from China arrived in droves and have since then developed the culture-rich district. At the harbour is Minato Mirai, the new central city area, which showcases the 296 metre-high Landmark Tower . The Landmark Tower has an observation platform that can be accessed via the elevator which currently happens to be the world's fastest, travelling 750 meters per minute. The view on top is magnificent, stretching all the way to Mt. Fuji on a clear day.
