Edo-Tokyo Museum

The Edo-Tokyo museum contains exhibits highlighting the city's long history, as well as its achievements in culture, architecture and visual art.

Edo was Tokyo's original name when it was established in 1590, serving as the seat of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun.

On display is a reconstruction of a Kabuki theatre, as well as artefacts and replicas that give visitors a fascinating look at how Edo 's citizens went about their day-to-day lives.
