Located in the southeastern corner of Pennsylvania , Philadelphia is the largest city of the state and the fifth largest city in the USA . Known as "City of Brotherly Love '", Philadelphia is especially distinguished as the birthplace of the nation and the nation's first capital (from 1790 to 1800). It was in Philadelphia that the signing of the Declaration of Independence took place and the Constitution of the United States was drafted by the Founding Fathers. Philly, as natives refer to it, is home to more than three million people. Rich in history and cultural tradition, many of the city's famous sites and architecture remained virtually unchanged for more than twenty decades.
