Individuals desiring to go to any state in the United States must hold a valid passport and a visa is also required except for United Kingdom, Canadian and Australian nationals. All travelers to the United States are required to have their photographs and two fingerprints taken on arrival by an inkless scanner. Numerous flights are available daily to South Carolina. The city is not that vast so one can visit many attractions by walking. Going to other attractions such as plantations outside the city, traveling by car is the first choice. An alternative for capturing the sights and sounds of the city is through riding a horse-drawn carriage. Buses are available from 5:35am until 10pm for a fare of $1.25. If one wishes to go to the central downtown, Downtown Area Shuttle trolley buses are available for $4 (day pass) or $1.25 (single pass). Taxicabs must be called for. |
