The best time to visit Canberra is during its autumn season (March to May). Canberra 's picturesque setting is highlighted by the sunny and crispy weather. You would definitely enjoy touring the town during this time. Winter season (June to August), on the other hand, would force you to stay inside your hotel most of the time due to the extremely cold weather. Despite the blue skies and sunny weather, the air will freeze your lungs and might even cause difficulty in breathing. Spring (September to November) is the wet and windy season. But it is also nice to visit during these months because it is when the popular Floriade festival occurs. Summer season (December to February), on the other hand, might be a bit too hot considering that Canberra's topography is not fit for this kind of weather.
