Canberra Museum and Gallery

Through its permanent collections, the Canberra Museum and Gallery explores the nation's cultural and social issues. It infuses visual arts and social history together to give a glimpse of Australia 's character. The museum houses both local and international exhibitions.

Canberra, Australian National Botanic Gardens

Devoted to Australian flora are 51 hectares of botanic gardens on the lower slopes of Black Mountain , behind the Australian National University . Found in the gardens are a eucalyptus lawn (which contains more than 600 species of eucalyptus), a rainforest area, a Tasmanian alpine garden, and self-guided walking trails. There are educational walks and free guided tours which depart from the visitor center at 11am on weekdays and 11am-2pm on weekends. The gardens are open daily from 9am-5pm .

Canberra, National Triangle

Wedged between Commonwealth Avenue and Kings Avenue is the National Triangle. Found here are most of the city's impressive attractions such as the National Gallery of Australia , the High Court of Australia, and the Questacon, The National Science Center.

Canberra, Australian War Memorial

More of a museum of Australian war history, the memorial opened n 1941. It showcases a remarkable collection of pictures, dioramas, and a fine collection of antiquated aircraft.
